About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join their advanced research initiatives in Organic Synthesis based in George. This position offers an exciting chance to contribute to groundbreaking research in the development of novel synthetic methodologies and the creation of complex organic molecules. You will work within a state-of-the-art facility, collaborating with a team of leading chemists and contributing to high-impact scientific publications.
This role is ideal for an individual passionate about pushing the boundaries of organic chemistry and seeking a dynamic research environment.
- Design and execute complex multi-step organic synthesis routes for target molecules.
- Develop and optimize novel synthetic methodologies, including catalysis and asymmetric synthesis.
- Characterize synthesized compounds using advanced analytical techniques, including NMR, Mass Spectrometry, and HPLC.
- Collaborate with team members on research projects, sharing expertise and experimental results.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present findings at conferences.
- Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory notebooks and research records.
- Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field from a reputable institution.
- Demonstrated expertise in modern organic synthesis techniques and reaction mechanisms.
- Proficiency in spectroscopic and chromatographic analytical methods (NMR, MS, HPLC, GC).
- Experience with literature searching and scientific database navigation.
- Ability to independently design and troubleshoot synthetic experiments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for scientific reporting and collaboration.
