About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Postdoctoral Researcher to join their esteemed Marine Biology research group located in George . This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical research on marine ecosystems and conservation efforts along the South African coastline. The role involves fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and contributing to high-impact publications. You will work within a supportive research environment focused on understanding and protecting marine biodiversity, playing a key role in the Scientific Research & Development initiatives.

• Conduct field research, including sample collection, ecological surveys, and data acquisition in marine environments.
• Perform laboratory analyses, such as genetic sequencing, chemical analysis, and sample processing.
• Analyze complex datasets using advanced statistical and computational tools.
• Collaborate with senior researchers on experimental design and project planning.
• Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
• Present research findings at national and international conferences.

• Ph.D. in Marine Biology, Oceanography, Ecology, or a related environmental science discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in marine fieldwork and laboratory techniques.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization software (e.g., R, Python).
• Experience with molecular techniques or ecological modeling is a plus.
• Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team in George .
