• To present the retail space in a way that maximises sales and provides a good first impression to customers.
• Responsible for the total merchandise presentation, the overall business image, building and placement of design elements. Performing related tasks as required.

• Create imaginative, eye-catching displays of merchandise in the store to attract the attention of customers leading them through the entire store and encouraging them to buy
• Research lifestyle and customer trends making sure the store appeals to the target audience
• Produce window displays, signs, interior displays and special promotion displays enhancing the store environment
• Change displays to promote new products and reflect festive or seasonal themes
• Contribute to the overall in-store design such as the store layout, store design, point of purchase displays, item display and signage to provide a positive in-store purchasing environment
• Assist clients with colours and trends as required and sales if needed
• Communicate with Branch Managers regarding:
  • new stock
  • items that are to be displayed
  • items that need to be moved
  • shelving and the putting of fixtures
• A thorough inspection of displays to be carried out ensuring merchandise is neat, clean, arranged properly and creatively
• Walk the floor daily to check merchandise and pricing on the floor especially on Fridays, Mondays and a day before and after a Public Holiday
• Maintain material books and sample tables ensuring they are always neat and tidy and kept up to date as per discontinued and new stock
• Ensure cushion cabinets are maintained, and the display of cushion cupboards are kept neat and tidy and differentiated between discontinued and new stock in a professional manner.
• Make sure all documents are filed correctly and that correct procedures and documents are adhered to
• Manage and ensure the pricing of stock, presentation of displays and the positioning of merchandise in the store
• Maintain personal appearance in line with Patio Warehouse dress code requirements
• Maintain a budget and negotiate with suppliers on visual materials
• Liaise with teams such as buying, design and marketing to create design themes and plans, including window and in-store displays, signage and pricing concepts
• Ascertain that prices and other details are clearly visible on each item in the store, and care must be taken that merchandise that differs slightly must be correctly labelled
• Undertake any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time
• Ensure client service by timeous ordering of material (when requested) and to manage the completion of the CMT process as quickly as possible
• Maximize the store space and seek feedback from staff, Management and customers on the visual impact of displays and implement changes as required
• Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to and always applied
• Perform inventory Management, planning, forecasting and close coordination of merchandise
• Ensure merchandise is properly identified and correctly labelled
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure merchandise is ordered on time and of the highest quality, as required
• Check stock and returns according to pre-scribed procedures of suppliers
• Oversee stock returning from exhibitions to make sure everything is accounted for, in good condition, labelled and returned to the showroom floor.
• In consultation with the Branch Manager plan general worker requirements to ensure adequate personnel when needed.
• Monitor that the store is always kept neat and tidy, informing those responsible of any areas that require attention.
• Promote an environment of respect, honesty and trust.
• Create a culture of team spirit working together with fellow colleagues and Management.
• Conduct daily walkabout of work area to identify any housekeeping problems and report any security breaches or irregularities to Management.
• Responsible for the Management of Pest Control with accessories in collaboration with Management.
• Ensure the adherence to prescribed distances of Occupational Health and Safety Act for example; no merchandise to cause obstruction of fire extinguishers, emergency exits or walkways for disabled persons making it difficult to see or access them.
• Ensure that all Occupational Health and Safety Act requirement and procedures are strictly adhered to achieve a zero Injury on Duty (IOD) incident rate
