Social Worker - Family Services

About the Role

Our client is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join their Family Services team in George. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing crucial support to families facing various challenges, including domestic issues, child welfare concerns, and financial instability. Your expertise will help families navigate complex systems, access necessary resources, and build resilience. You will work collaboratively with local organizations and government agencies to ensure comprehensive support is delivered effectively.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of family needs, identifying strengths and areas requiring intervention.
• Develop and implement tailored case management plans, including counselling and advocacy.
• Provide crisis intervention and support to families experiencing acute difficulties.
• Connect families with appropriate community resources, such as housing assistance, legal aid, and mental health services.
• Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate client documentation in compliance with agency standards.
• Conduct home visits and community outreach to ensure effective service delivery.

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in family support, child protection, or community-based social work.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and ethical considerations in social work practice.
• Excellent counselling, mediation, and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in both English and Afrikaans is highly desirable for working within the George community.
