About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dependable Commercial Truck Driver to manage freight transportation based in George . This position involves long-haul or regional routes, requiring adherence to strict schedules and delivery protocols. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of heavy-duty trucks, ensuring the secure transport of goods and maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations. This is an integral role within the company's distribution network, vital for maintaining operational flow and customer satisfaction through reliable and efficient logistics services in the Western Cape region.

• Operate heavy-duty commercial vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all national and provincial regulations.
• Plan and navigate optimal routes for timely delivery and pickup of goods.
• Conduct thorough inspections of trucks and trailers before, during, and after trips.
• Securely load and unload cargo, verifying manifests and ensuring product integrity.
• Maintain detailed records of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
• Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or delays promptly to dispatch.

• Valid Code 14 driver's license and professional driving permit (PDP).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience driving commercial trucks, preferably in long-haul or regional transport.
• Proven ability to operate heavy vehicles safely and competently.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Excellent navigational skills and familiarity with GPS technology.
• Must possess a clean driving record and pass a background check.
