Stormwater Plan Review Engineer
Sussex Conservation District is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented engineer to join our Sediment and Stormwater Program. What You’ll DoYou’ll review stormwater management plans for residential, commercial, and industrial developments across Sussex County. Your work ensures that new projects protect water quality and comply with Delaware’s environmental regulations. This role combines technical engineering analysis with collaboration—you’ll work with consulting engineers, developers, county officials, and state agencies to guide projects from plan to completion.
Expect a combination of office‑based plan reviews, occasional fieldwork at construction sites, and opportunities to participate in policy development and program improvements.
What We’re Looking ForRequired: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources Management, or a related field. A valid Delaware driver’s license and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction plans.
Preferred: P.E. license or EIT certification, 1–2 years of experience in stormwater management or engineering, proficiency with AutoCAD, and familiarity with hydrology, hydraulics, and erosion control principles. Certifications like CPESC, CPSWQ, or CESSWI are a plus.
