Summary StatementAssigns/Assesses/Evaluates/Monitors/Supervises therapeutic activity programs and staff, in supporting residents to meet their activity, recreational, community outings needs both individually and in groups. Schedules a robust activities calendar, assigns staff to complete activities, assessments and person-centered treatment plans and outcomes. Provides activity/ recreational therapy education to staff and families. Completes and reviews assessments and documentation to ensure regulations and standards are met.
Functions as Administrator on Duty as assigned.

THERAPIST
- Administers treatment, applying knowledge of applicable therapy discipline.
- Plans and prepares written treatment plans based on evaluation of individual's data.
- Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum benefit.
- Instructs, motivates and assists individuals in performance of various activities and use of support devices.
- Instructs individuals, their families and other treatment staff in treatment procedures.
- Prepares records and reports on individual's progress.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Therapist III
- Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher.
- At least two years experience providing professional therapy services.
- Depending on job assignment possession of one of the following certification, license or registration:
- Certified Music Therapist by the Certified Board for Music Therapists or eligible for certification.
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification or eligible for certification.

Pre-employment Drug Testing:
Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.
Upon a conditional offer, the applicant must undergo a pre-employment base line two step tuberculin skin test (TST) as part of the hiring process.
This position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization) that has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other applicable terms and conditions of employment, in accordance with Title 29, Chapter 59 and Title 19, Chapter 13 and 16.
All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.
