We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV and multiple occurring diagnoses, and their related challenges.

• Peer Support Specialists will assist in this process by supporting and assisting the clients through the program.
• Assist the clients in gaining entitlements and accessing resources within the community.
• Provide guidance and assist clients in overcoming barriers and challenges in their recovery journey.
• Act as case managers and assist clients in obtaining resources such as food, clothing, vouchers, housing, linkage to employment services, legal, linkage to healthcare, transportation, mental health, childcare, and social services.
• Provide crisis intervention and connect individuals to community resource services.
• Educate and empower individuals by assisting them in developing a strong, stable recovery support system.
• Assist individuals with self-care and self-awareness, encouragement and support, teaching coping skills, connecting clients to outside resources and teaching the positive benefits of long-term recovery.

• REQUIRED:
  
  High School Diploma or GED
• REQUIRED:
  
  Must be over 18 years of age.
• REQUIRED:
  
  Valid driver's license with 2 points or less. May need to use your own vehicle if a BCCS car is not available.
• REQUIRED:
  
  Must be a Peer. BCCS employs a diverse workforce, and we especially encourage applications from those who are in recovery. This position requires that the candidate chosen for it is a peer. BCCS defines a peer as anyone who is in recovery from addiction to drugs, alcohol, or mental health.
• REQUIRED:
  
  Minimum of 2 years in recovery
• PREFERRED:
  Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS).
• If you are not certified, certification is required within the first year of employment.

• Monday - Friday
• 7:00 a.m.
  
  - 3:00 p.m.

• Starting at $18/hour
• Commensurate based on experience and education!
