This is a promotional position overseeing production lines or areas processing poultry products. The role involves assisting the department supervisor in daily operations, coordinating the workforce, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment. The position requires working with raw poultry products. Responsibilities include setting up, monitoring, adjusting, and performing routine service on production equipment to maintain Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) standards.
Typically, work hours are five to six days a week, generally from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, with hours and overtime varying based on production needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Train Operators and Process Tech I associates on proper setup and operation of equipment in Breast Debone. Inspect equipment and related components for proper operation. Prepare equipment for sanitation, including blade removal, arbors, and fasteners, and reassemble after sanitation.
Oversee the blade sharpening program to ensure blades are sharp and ready for daily production. Report issues to the Production Superintendent.
Observe and adjust equipment during production or report problems to management.
Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance on equipment such as Foodmate Max XL, Marel Sensor X, Marel Graders, and Conveyors. Assist with equipment modifications and rebuilds to ensure efficiency and departmental goals are met.
Coordinate with OEMs for parts quotes, submit purchase requests through Maximo (CMMS), and follow up to ensure timely ordering to prevent downtime. Maintain work and production areas during production and on weekends as scheduled, completing all necessary paperwork.
Adhere to safety requirements, report unsafe acts or conditions, and provide accurate shift handover information to counterparts, including machine operators, Process Tech II, and management.
Communicate with production and maintenance superintendents if late or absent at least 2 hours in advance for regular workdays and weekend PMs; no more than five occurrences are allowed before demotion.
High School Diploma or GED
Experience Requirements- Proficiency in reading/writing English, math, and analytical skills
- Pass a background check
- 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Exposure to temperatures of 40–50°F, noise levels of 85–88 dB, iodine at hand wash stations, light intensity above 50' candles. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and move throughout the department.
