Position OverviewAs a Safety Officer with BCCS, you will maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, clients, and visitors. You will respond to emergencies, patrol facilities, and assist with crisis intervention while modeling the organization’s service behaviors.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain safety, including approaches to address disruptive or uncooperative individuals.
- Follow BCCS policies and procedures and serve as a visible presence with staff, demonstrating support and modeling conflict resolution.
- Provide crisis intervention and respond to urgent or emergency situations, minimizing trauma to clients and staff.
- Patrol building and parking lots to prevent loitering, unauthorized parking, and smoking.
- Direct traffic safely in BCCS parking lots.
- Monitor parking lots, grounds, and buildings to ensure safety.
- Assist handicapped clients in entering the clinic when necessary.
- Keep order and maintain an orderly line during dispensing.
- Assist nurses during client incidents.
- Assist with maintaining safe and clean grounds.
- Write incident reports.
- Provide assistance to unruly, uncooperative, and disruptive clients to depart premises.
- Assist with snow and ice removal when necessary to keep business premises safe.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
- Maintain daily contact with clients to foster a safe and secure environment.
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Preferred: 1 year experience in the drug and alcohol field.
- Preferred: 1 year de‑escalation experience.
- Ability to stand for the length of the shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Monday – Friday, 4:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
- Every other Saturday, 5:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
- Starting at $15 per hour.
- Pay commensurate with experience.
