Description
Position: Athletic Coach
Reports To: Athletic Director
Length of

Sport Season
Evaluation: Ongoing by Athletic Director
Responsibilities
- Uphold and enforce school and Board policies
- Facilitate daily practices to train student athletes in both technical and tactical skills in order to improve both individual and team performance
- Attend DCS coaches professional development workshops
- Be available for professional development opportunities (usually offered 4 times a year)
- Keep up to date on schedules by signing up for updates on Websites4sports for every sport, and by communicating with the Athletic Director

- Employ Matthew 18 principle in all conflict resolution
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents and students
- Maintain confidence in and hope for the success of every student
- Speak to the heart of the student while enforcing classroom rules and School policy
- Prayerfully maintain a lifestyle that demonstrates a commitment to Christ
Growth
- Actively promote the school in the community
- Support extra curricular activities through attendance of events throughout the school year
- Participate as needed in development and recruitment activities
Metrics for Success
- Ensure that all athletes are cared for physically, emotionally, and spiritually
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents to help foster positive relationships
- Come prepared daily
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Vibrant, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Proficient in both technical and tactical skills related to specific sport
- Certified in emergency care procedures (CPR, IMPACT, First Aid, and AED)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for the mission of Delmarva Christian Schools
- Infinite hope is the success of every student
