Directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements.
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
- Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
- Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position serves both internal co‑workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors. Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information. Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesManage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESBachelor's Degree in related field preferred. Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.
Skills And Abilities- Business Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Moderate Computer Skills – Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.
- Complex Communication – Frequently communicates complex information and interacts with management.

- Functional Independent Judgement – Provides and sets goals and priorities for functional area.
- Project Planning/Organization – Handle multiple projects simultaneously including task delegation, project oversight, and resource allocation.

Work Environment And Travel RequirementsWorks in well‑lit, ventilated and climate‑controlled office environment with routine office equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts. Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
