Georgetown Community Hospital, a 12-minute drive from Lexington, KY, is searching for a CMA to join our Central Kentucky Urology outpatient clinic. This is a Full Time position with a highly skilled team of nurses, medical assistants, and technicians working with our physician to serve our community. The minimum requirements for this job are a High School Diploma or GED, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), and current BLS certifications.

We are located about one-half mile from the main campus of Georgetown Community Hospital, with a satellite office in Mount Sterling. Job Responsibilities- Assist the provider to deliver services to patients of all ages, including evaluation, planning, individual treatment goals, and related duties within the designated scope of practice.
- Responsible for calling in/e-scribing medications to pharmacies in accordance with clinic protocol. Triage patient calls, answer patient questions, obtain vitals, and collect patient and medication history.
- Assist with monitoring and management of patient and physician electronic messages as delegated by the provider within scope of practice.
- Provide assistant functions to patients (personal care, ambulation, transports).
- Assist in minor procedures, sterile prep, and supplies.
- Document care given and data gathered, including lab and diagnostic imaging, and report findings to the physician.
- Notify patients of lab and diagnostic test results under the direct supervision of the healthcare provider.
- Collect and prepare lab specimens and tests, including drawing blood.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect privacy of healthcare information, security of passwords, and access codes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station; follow safety regulations, code of conduct and ethics, Revenue Cycle Guidelines, customer service, attend hospital and clinical training and departmental staff meetings.
- Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, and pre-certifications.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate’s Degree preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant via the AAMA or NHA
- Ability to think critically, exercise decisive judgment, and work with minimal supervision. Must handle a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
