PLC/Assembly Technician
Location:
Georgetown, KY
Duration: 12 Months
Responsibilities- Review equipment specifications and design, identify improvements, conduct vendor buyoffs to confirm equipment functions.
- Install equipment, verify safety, quality, and productivity of equipment.
- Investigate to determine modification requirements, implement modifications, trial and adjust.
- Lower cost and decrease project time by confirming safety, quality, and productivity of equipment at vendor, prior to installation; minimize adjustment time during vehicle trials by performing quality trials at vendor.
- Oversee installation by vendor, facilitate kanban process, improve equipment quality and productivity by implementing adjustments identified during online vehicle trials.
- Confirm quality results by secondary method (Torque check, vacuum profiles, etc.).
- Install, set up and troubleshoot Toyopuc and Allen‑Bradley program controllers.
- Provide training to Maintenance members on newly implemented equipment.
- Strong PLC programming/troubleshooting (Toyopuc, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, or Allen Bradley) – 2 years.
- Comprehensive knowledge of PLCs – 2 years.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical circuits and industrial controls – 2 years.
- 2‑year technical degree or trade school program (EET or Industrial Maintenance Technology) and/or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.
- Ability to travel up to 50% at times (including international travel).
- Ability to work up to 30% overtime when required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs on occasion; frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching on varying surfaces.
- Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery; ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Good vision and hand‑eye coordination for detailed repairs.
- Ability to work in various environments including hot, cold, or confined spaces; stamina to perform repetitive tasks and work long shifts.
- 2+ years industrial maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of industrial robot programming and teaching.
- Knowledge of AGVs/AMRs programming and set up.
- Knowledge of safety scanners and programming.
- Knowledge of various industrial controls networking (Ethernet/IP, FLLNet, Profi Net, etc.).
- Automotive manufacturing experience.
