APRN Nurse Practitioner in Express Care

Overview

Georgetown Community Hospital in Georgetown, KY is hiring an APRN Nurse Practitioner for Express Care ). This is a full-time position working in an Express Care outpatient clinic as part of a highly skilled team of physicians, medical assistants, technicians, and radiology staff. Minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program, licensure as an APRN, board certification, and current BLS certification.

• Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, including use of prescriptive authority and referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health and wellness, treatment options, and community resources.
• Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination.
• Document patient care performed, assessments made, and orders given.
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies.
• Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
• Provide care in the context of promoting age- and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision making, and the right to self-determination.

• Graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree program in Nursing
• Master’s Degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program
• Current Kentucky RN license and ARNP license (DEA number preferred)
• ACLS and PALS obtained within 6 months of hire
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
