RN – Medical Surgical – PRN

Overview

Georgetown Community Hospital, a 12 minute drive from Lexington, KY, is searching for a Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit. This is a PRN position and you would be a member of a highly skilled team of Acute Care nurses, physicians, and technicians. Your graduation from an accredited school of nursing, current RN license, current BLS certification, and ability to acquire ACLS within a year are the minimum requirements.

• As an RN you will ensure delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
• As an RN you would perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

• Associate’s Degree ADN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree BSN or higher preferred
• Current unencumbered license by KY Board of Nursing
• ACLS within 1 year of hire
• Being a nurse requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
