Mon-Th. 8:00 - 4:30, Fri. 8:00 - 12:30

$18.00/hr.

• Maintaining housing sites and grounds
• Performing duties such as Carpentry, painting and plastering
• Light electrical and plumbing repairs
• Complete service requests and Unit inspections
• Performs carpentry repairs to damaged walls, roofs, woodwork, floors, gutters and downspouts, garage doors, fences, gates, windows, cabinets, doorbells, and interior and exterior doors.
• Uses brushes, rollers and airless spray equipment to apply the required number of coats of paint, enamel, varnish, lacquer, or other protective or decorative material on a variety of surfaces, including wall and ceiling board, wood, metal, plaster, stucco, concrete, or brick.
• Repairs plaster, patches old plaster, and removes loose plaster in Authority properties.
• Repairs or replaces wiring and parts for electrical outlets, switches, light fixtures, and breaker switches and fuses; checks for and repairs gas leaks.
• Repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures and fittings, including but not limited to: showers, faucets, drains, sewer lines, toilets, sinks, water heaters, and water pumps.
• Reinforces, installs, or replaces window and door screens, doorknobs, and dead bolt locks.
• Repairs, adjusts, or replaces various appliances and equipment, including but not limited to: refrigerators, boiler systems, gas and electric stoves, furnaces, electric motors, vacuum cleaners, water heaters, smoke detectors, washers and dryers, air conditioners, and generators.
• Assists in inspections of occupied and vacated housing units; repairs and paints units as needed.
• Cleans up water spills.
• Maintains Authority vehicle(s).
• Keeps Maintenance Coordinator informed of availability of units and completed work.
• Performs minor mechanical repairs to equipment such as small hand tools, mowers and weed eaters, etc
• Performs routine ground maintenance
• Take proper care of equipment used and return equipment and unused supplies to storage
• Must complete a work order on all maintenance tasks and uphold the professional image at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

• Must be at least 18 years of age or over
• Must comply with client’s substance abuse & background policy
• High school Diploma or Equivalent
• 1 Year of experience in Construction, Building Maintenance or Vocational Training
• Must have Valid DL
• Experience with Handheld tools
• Able to read blueprints, plans and specifications, repair manuals and instructional guides
• Able to write service requests, maintenance and inspection reports

• Temp to Hire position based upon work ethics and attendance
