Responsibilities
  • Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health
  • Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: creating heartfelt moments while serving patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone; offering immunizations and other services; and solving or escalating patient problems
  • Completing basic inventory activities, as permitted by law and directed by the pharmacy leadership team, such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
  • Contributing to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback; actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
  • Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; may travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed
  • Understanding and complying with all relevant laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety, controlled substance dispensing and recordkeeping, and patient privacy and security
  • Delivering additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing) where allowable by law and supported by training and certification
  • Where permissible, supporting immunizations, including licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status, educating patients about vaccines, monitoring for adverse reactions, and tracking vaccine-related information
Required Qualifications
  • Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification
  • If the state board does not specify a minimum age, must be at least 16 years of age
  • If the state board does not specify an educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state

    • Ability to use math to solve problems such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense, days’ supply, and number of bottles needed
