The MRO Technical Sales Lead role drives revenue growth by creating accurate, competitive proposals for aircraft maintenance services across all maintenance locations. You will serve as the central liaison between clients, sales, project management, and maintenance teams to ensure accurate communication and smooth execution from proposal through delivery. You will report directly to the VP of Maintenance.
Responsibilities- Part 145 Technical Sales & Contract Development
- Develop and implement a sales strategy aligned with Sherpa Air’s Repair Station capabilities, ratings, and limitations.
- Produce compliant work scopes, estimates, proposals, and contracts grounded in AMM/MPD/CMM/AD/SB data.
- Ensure all commitments match available tooling, personnel, certifications, and capacity.
- Support technical sales efforts for avionics upgrades, cabin systems, and STC-based modifications.
- Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Grow Sherpa Air’s MROs customer base across Part 91/135 operators, business jet owners, fleet managers, government agencies, and special‑mission organizations.
- Serve as the customer’s primary liaison from RFQ to delivery.
- Increase customer retention through communication discipline, transparent project updates, and predictable turn times.
- Market Expansion for Target Airframes & Avionics
- Expand Sherpa Air’s presence in the business jet sector with a focus on Challenger and Citation platforms.
- Promote avionics installations, troubleshooting, and upgrade packages—especially Garmin integrated flight decks, navigators, and retrofit solutions.
- Identify new vertical markets (ISR, law enforcement, public safety, utility fleets).
- Recommend capability expansions aligned with customer demand and fleet composition.
- Internal Coordination with Part 145 Operations
- Collaborate closely with the cross‑functional MRO team including MRO Leadership.
- Participate in induction meetings, technical reviews, and major milestone updates.
- Ensure customer expectations support compliance requirements, including documentation accuracy, traceability, and regulatory conformity.
- Reporting, Forecasting & Regulatory Integrity
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline forecasting tied to labor availability, hangar capacity, and supplier lead times.
- Document all customer engagements within the CRM and repair station management system.
- Ensure sales and marketing communications remain fully compliant with FAA Part 145 regulations and Sherpa Air’s ratings.
- 3‑5 years in aircraft maintenance estimating, planning, project management, or related field.
- Proven experience in selling heavy inspections, avionics upgrades, modifications, and scheduled maintenance events.
- Experience with business aircraft (Embraer, Pilatus, Cessna, Cirrus, Gulfstream).
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems, inspection packages, and service bulletins.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, quoting software, and ERP/MRO systems.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Must pass background checks and pre‑employment screening.
- Excellent technical communication skills with airframe, power plant, avionics, and component knowledge.
- Ability to travel frequently for customer visits and trade shows.
- Strong regulatory awareness and respect for FAA Part 145 compliance.
