Job Overview
We are now hiring a Diesel Technician in Georgetown, SC. This role requires diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across a variety of vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Technician you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and longevity of our fleet.
$5,000 Sign‑On Bonus.
Competitive compensation: $23.00 to $28.00 per hour, plus $0.10 per hour for each ASE certification you possess or obtain.

- Perform vehicle maintenance to Transdev standards.
- Diagnose all phases of vehicle and equipment repair and select appropriate action.
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
- Evaluate completed work prior to release, seeking supervisor approval where required.
- Ensure safe use of power and hand‑held tools.
- Perform road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
- Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors.
- Actively participate in safety or educational training as required.
- Maintain continuous ASE re‑certification to remain in job classification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical training preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- ASE Certifications preferred; must obtain at least one ASE within 6 months of employment.
- Preferred experience with diagnostic computers and heavy line equipment repairs (from heavy trucks to heavy equipment).
- Demonstrated experience monitoring and meeting PM schedules and operating shop repair equipment.
- Appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside, often alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch on ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties of the job; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
