Job DescriptionTxDOT's Georgetown Area Office located in Georgetown, TX is looking for one Construction Inspector I, II, III or IV. The role inspects construction methods and workmanship to ensure contractors build roadways, bridges, traffic signals, airports and related structures in accordance with plans and specifications. The inspector acts as a consultant regarding work progress and problem resolution, may serve as the only inspector on a construction project, or assist in overseeing inspection activities for very large and complex projects within the district. The
inspector is responsible to a licensed professional engineer who has full authority for approval of all work. Work requires contact with contractors and may include materials tests and manufacturing process inspections at fabrication sites. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.

Salary- Construction Inspector I: B18 ($45,521.00 - $71,055.00/yearly)
- Construction Inspector II: B19 ($48,244.00 - $76,028.00/yearly)
- Construction Inspector III: B20 ($51,158.00 - $81,351.00/yearly)
- Construction Inspector IV: B21 ($54,278.00 - $87,046.00/yearly)

- Calculates payments due contractors for work completed.
- Ensures contractors build roadways, bridges and related highway structures and/or airport improvements in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Observes and inspects ongoing construction work.
- Prepares monthly and final estimates.
