Responsibilities
  • Coordinate loan application completions, collect all necessary documents (including credit reports), run DU/LP/AUS, send a closing cost worksheet to borrowers, and get the file ready for processing.
  • Build and maintain relationships with borrowers and referral partners to keep our current customers and attract new ones.
  • Coordinate discussions between the loan officer, referral partners, and clients so they have a clear primary contact throughout the "contact to contract" phase of the loan process and arrange meetings to ensure any follow‑up actions are taken.
  • Follow up and respond to customer and in‑house inquiries on transactions and provide quotes as needed to offer superior customer service.
  • Look over all loan package paperwork to check for inconsistencies, omissions, and inaccurate income calculations, and then report any errors to the loan originator.
  • Accurately set up new purchase applications, issue pre‑approval letters, and oversee the success of every loan from contract to close.
  • Communicate effectively with all Realtor partners and keep them updated on progress.
  • Ensure 95% of all loans are closed on time by actively monitoring and addressing any potential choke points.
  • Conduct pre‑approval power hours, daily gauge checks, and weekly pipeline meetings to maintain high loan‑processing standards.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions, including phone calls, emails, and in‑person meetings.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience as a loan originator, loan partner, processor, loan officer, or underwriter (5+ years preferred).
  • Working knowledge of automated underwriting systems such as DU and LP.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage loan products (FHA/VA/CONV/USDA) and mortgage documentation, processes, and procedures.
  • Superb follow‑up, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Must maintain an active Texas NMLS license (annually renewed at employee’s expense) – no exceptions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in DU/DO, LP, and any major loan origination systems (Encompass, Ellie Mae, Calyx Point, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Teams.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, independently, and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Consistently positive attitude, detail‑oriented, and willing to collaborate respectfully with all employees at both the branch and corporate levels.
Additional Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in processing, underwriting, origination, or a combination of all aspects.
  • Proficiency with all major investor guidelines.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time through time‑blocking.
  • Commitment to growth mentality and willingness to pursue continuous learning.
