Medical‑Surgical Nurse Manager (RN) – Georgetown, TX

This leadership position oversees daily operations of a 45‑bed Med‑Surg unit, ensuring exceptional patient care and staff performance. The Nurse Manager partners with the Director of Med‑Surg and hospital leadership to uphold departmental goals, improve patient outcomes, and foster a collaborative, high‑performing nursing culture.

Base pay range: $90,000 – $113,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all nursing functions and patient care delivery on the Med‑Surg unit.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, hospital policies, and core measures.
  • Oversee staffing assignments and scheduling to meet patient acuity and service needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, departments, and leadership to address patient and operational issues.
  • Conduct staff rounding and patient engagement to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Monitor department performance metrics and support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide coaching, evaluations, and corrective actions as necessary to promote professional growth and accountability.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination across all nursing and hospital teams.
Requirements Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Prior leadership or charge nurse experience strongly preferred.
Certifications / Licenses
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or Compact State).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Skills or Competencies
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex patient care and staff coordination.
  • Sound clinical judgment and hands‑on leadership approach.
  • Proficient in hospital systems, policies, and performance improvement.
