Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Health - Adolescent Unit
Location:
Rock Springs Behavioral Health Hospital, Georgetown, Texas
Job Type: Full‑time – Days – Rotating Schedule (one weekend shift every other weekend; 7 a‑7 p, primarily on the adolescent unit).
How You Will Contribute- Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
- Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
- Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
- Perform timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
- Be responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
- Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.
- Conduct plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care; document patient care given.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances; act as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

- Associate’s degree in nursing required.
- Current Registered Nurse license as required by state regulations in which the facility operates.
- 1-year experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.
- CPR certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
- De‑escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
