The Contractor Sales Representative will regularly sell products and services offered by 84 Lumber to current and new clients outside of store locations. This position builds and maintains a book of business, creating a strong pipeline of sales leads and fostering positive customer relationships. It may also include other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Responsibilities- Build and maintain a network of sources to identify new sales leads.
- Communicate with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs, and suggest appropriate solutions.
- Demonstrate product functions and utilities to customers based on their needs.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolve post‑sale issues.
- Maintain communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them to new products, services, and enhancements.
- Maintain detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
- Create and continually grow a book of business and acquire new customers.
- Create material estimates/read blueprints.
- Source special order material.
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to function in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Reading prints.
- Creating material estimates.
- Sourcing special orders.
