Asset Protection Specialist

Overview

The Asset Protection Specialist role at The Home Depot is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in the assigned store or stores. They utilize tools to minimize loss, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring store physical security, and auditing Electronic Article Surveillance to drive a shrink-elimination culture in the store.

They prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserve evidence, interact with law enforcement, and testify in criminal and civil court actions. The Asset Protection Specialist reports hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and carries out job responsibilities in a manner that minimizes the risk of injury to themselves, other associates, vendors, customers, and the Company.

They demonstrate integrity at all times, respond to asset protection and operational concerns of all associates, and remain focused on store-specific business objectives while supporting key asset protection and operational responsibilities.

• Identify incidents of theft and fraud and review CCTV and exception reports.
• Monitor store physical security and audit Electronic Article Surveillance systems.
• Prepare accurate case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries; preserve evidence; interact with law enforcement; testify in criminal and civil actions as required.
• Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and carry out responsibilities in a manner that minimizes the risk of injury to associates, vendors, customers, and the Company.
• Demonstrate integrity at all times and respond to asset protection and operational concerns while supporting store objectives.
