Martin Marietta Materials is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Industrial Electrician. This position is based in the San Antonio area and supports all aggregate rock mining plants. The primary role of the Senior Industrial Electrician is to maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, consult, research, and develop process control instrumentation to optimize production efficiency.
This position services various plants within the greater San Antonio, Hondo/Uvalde, New Braunfels, and Austin, TX areas. Local travel is required.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, including those related to plant controls for rail operations
- Troubleshoot AC / DC motor controls and drives
- Research potential upgrades and fine-tune existing operations to improve safety, efficiency, plant capacities, consistency, availability, and reporting
- Work closely with engineering and outside vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital projects
- Support corporate safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations
- Lead by example on safety policies and MSHA standards, ensuring employee adherence
- Encourage participation in Guardian Angel activities
Education and Experience
- 5 years’ experience in aggregates or similar industry
- Experience with conveyor belt scales, operation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair
- Valid driver’s license with good driving history
- Texas electrician license (maintenance or journeyman) a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Vendor relations skills (internal and external contractors)
- Willingness to be on call
- Knowledge of high voltage electrical systems
- Skilled in using hand tools, test instruments, and electrical construction tools
- Experience with PLCs is a plus
- Lift up to 100 lbs
- Climb stairs and ladders, reach, squat, stand/walk for prolonged periods, balance, bend, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push, and pull
- Perform overhead reaching and use vibration tools
- Work in confined spaces and in high noise areas
- Environmental conditions include outdoor work in all weather and indoor work
Work involves outdoor assignments in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, wet, or dry environments, with noise levels up to 85 dB. Ability to reason through operational problems and resolve them is required.
