Entry Level Petroleum Service Technician

Pump Tex, Inc. in Central Texas is seeking to hire an Entry Level Petroleum Service Technician to provide excellent customer service, repairs, and maintenance to the gas stations they serve in Georgetown, Round Rock, and surrounding areas. A Day in the Life of a Petroleum Service Technician

As a Petroleum Service Technician, you juggle many tasks in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment. With a sense of urgency, you communicate in person and over the phone with our clients. You respond to a variety of service calls including emergency response and after-hour on-call. You repair and maintain dispensers, turbines, UST tank top equipment, UST monitoring equipment, and dispenser calibration.

You also track inventory on the company vehicle to ensure that you have all the equipment you need to help our clients. Your persistence in following up ensures that our clients are taken care of. To stay at the top of your game, you keep up to date on new equipment launches and industry compliance. Additionally, you participate in ongoing training.

Your ability to successfully manage client expectations through correct judgments, sound decisions, and your technical knowledge is critical to your success.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to service calls, including emergency response and after-hour on-call
  • Repair and maintain dispensers, turbines, UST tank top equipment, UST monitoring equipment, and dispenser calibration
  • Track inventory on the company vehicle to ensure availability of needed equipment
  • Maintain client communication and manage expectations with sound judgments
  • Stay up to date on new equipment launches and industry compliance
  • Participate in ongoing training to build technical knowledge
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer operations
  • Knowledge of petroleum dispensers and related equipment a plus (Wayne, Veri Fone, Gilbarco)
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving history
Work Schedule

Our Petroleum Technicians typically work Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. There is also a required rotating on-call schedule (1 week of on-call every 5 weeks).
