Senior Staff Accountant
Location: Atlanta, GA
Compensation: $75,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a focus on heavy Accounts Payable (AP) processes. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, processing a high volume of invoices, supporting the month-end close process, and assisting with financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable (AP) Management:
- Process and manage a large volume of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely approvals.
- Review, code, and enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Maintain vendor relationships, handle payment inquiries, and negotiate payment terms when needed.
- Month-End Close:
- Prepare and post journal entries related to AP and other financial transactions.
- Assist with general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of month-end financial data.
- Ensure proper accruals for AP and other expenses during month-end close.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and account reconciliations.
- Analyze AP data for cost management and provide insights to management.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of AP operations.
- Collaborate with the finance team to streamline accounting procedures.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with procurement, operations, and other departments to ensure financial data accuracy.
- Participate in special accounting projects as needed.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of accounting experience, with heavy emphasis on Accounts Payable in a high-volume environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and AP best practices.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems preferred) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
