The DHS’ Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) Child Welfare, is seeking candidates to fill the position of Child Welfare Services Technician 1, reporting to a Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor. This position is in Danielsville, Madison County.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with community partners and stakeholders to obtain necessary documents for case files.
  • Perform DNA collections to establish paternity of children involved with the agency.
  • Assists with coordinating the needs of children in foster care.
  • Manage and organize case files.
  • Provide supervision for children in care as needed.
  • Participate in agency meetings and trainings.
  • Assists with special events such as Secret Santa.
  • Utilize private vehicle for work-related travel and duties (including transportation of children).
  • Embrace ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support to social services case managers.

Preferred Skills/

Qualifications:
  • Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience:
    Prior experience working in a child welfare related field.
  • Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license for work-related travel.
