Position OverviewAt Kiewit, one of our guiding principles on every project and in every office is, “Nobody Gets Hurt” and we’re currently looking for a Safety Specialist who will create, support and audit our programs which reinforce our commitment to safety.
As a Safety Specialist, you will report to Project Safety Manager. Your primary responsibilities center on the successful implementation and support of the Site Specific Safety Plan in the field. You will assist the Project Safety Manager with the application of the contract, client safety expectations, Kiewit Corporate Safety Manual, Corporate Crane Procedures Manual, District Standards, and all laws governing the work.
You will also verify to ensure that work is being executed as planned, problem‑solve with operations and craft, assist with corrective measures, and provide resources to correct and maintain solutions.
Kiewit's Southeast District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include building bridges, airports, mass transit systems, canals, dams, pump stations or tunnels. Although most of our work is regionally based in the southeast region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the east coast.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry instead of design.
One of the many things that makes Kiewit’s culture unique is that we go where the work is, which exposes your career to abundant opportunities. We relocate our teams based on the work that is available, combined with the development plans, skill sets and career goals of each team member. This means your Kiewit adventure is custom‑designed to meet our shared needs.
