A hospital is seeking a neuro critical care physician for locum tenens coverage.

This Neuro ICU locum assignment is at a 635-bed Level I trauma center with a closed 117-bed ICU, including 18 Neuro ICU beds. The facility uses EPIC EMR and needs a board-certified MD or DO in Neurocritical Care for expansion coverage. Shifts are 7a-7p or 7p-7a, 7 days a week, with no call required. The locum will handle 10-18 patients daily, perform 2-3 admissions, and cover rounding and consults in the Neuro ICU only.

Procedures and code response within the Neuro ICU are required. Medical Critical Care and anesthesia are available, and APP support is inconsistent. Privileging takes 30-60 days; licensure must already be in place.
