Welding Equipment Maintenance Manager
Ellabell, GA (onsite)
• Perm Role
This role will coordinate, monitor, and perform specialized technical processes related to welding activities in the maintenance department within an automotive manufacturing environment to achieve company goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Report on the status of assigned tasks at the beginning, during, and conclusion.
- Oversee shop maintenance performance, including downtime, manpower, preventive maintenance, maintenance systems, equipment improvements, safety/environmental compliance, and skill development.
- Prepare, execute, evaluate, and improve the annual operations plan.
- Foster teamwork through interviews, meetings, events, and collaboration across departments.
- Manage production and downtime performance in the welding shop.
- Support urgent equipment issues as needed, including nights, weekends, or holidays, based on departmental shift rotation.
- Maintain SAP and PM systems daily in alignment with welding shop maintenance activities.
- Apply strong electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering knowledge.
- Maintain smooth relationships with other departments through effective communication and cooperation.
- Manage and monitor the purchasing, distribution, and inventory control of maintenance materials, including tools and subsidiary materials.
- Control and plan the annual welding maintenance budget, including monthly analysis and budget allocation.
- Ensure proper spare parts management, including PR, quotations, POs, receiving, organizing, and issuing parts.
- Supervise team members, resolve conflicts, and address HR-related issues, including recruitment, disciplinary actions, and appraisals.
- Clearly communicate company direction, business decisions, and official information to team members.
- Evaluate and mentor staff to encourage continuous improvement.
- Enforce company policies.
- Lead welding maintenance operations that support high-quality production and operational efficiency.
- More than 10 years of maintenance experience in automated plants.
- Experience managing a team of more than 30 members.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Technical college or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical fields.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for PLC-based automation equipment.
- Over 5 years of maintenance experience in major automotive industry in the U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (if not already listed above).
- Mechanical or electrical certifications.
- Experience with AB PLC programming and control circuits.
- Experience performing equipment installations including design studies, documentation, inspections, and testing of new or modified equipment and processes.
- Automotive robotic welding experience, preferably Kawasaki and Fanuc.
