Universal Health Services, Inc. (NYSE: UHS) is a Fortune 300 corporation providing healthcare services across North America and the UK. This role supports a 115‑bed residential treatment center in Black Bear Lodge, operated by Foundations Recovery Network (FRN) to deliver integrated addiction and mental health care.
- Monitors and controls accounts receivables and oversees Business Office functions to ensure cash collection goals are met.
- Facilitates weekly A/R meetings with the CEO and Business Office Manager to communicate results and monitor weaknesses.
- Maintains relationships between Business Office, Intake and Utilization Review departments to maximize patient revenue.
- Improves hospital profitability by monitoring costs, payor mix, length of stay and negotiating contract terms with third‑party payers.
- Prepares pro‑forma analysis for new programs, contracts, and evaluates success/failure of implemented programs, including physician arrangements.
- Develops and monitors policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow and reduced operating costs.
- Prepares monthly financial statements, financial packages, and other informational reports with account analysis, variance analysis, journal entries, and internal controls.
- Provides reconciliations, account analyses and other information for Reimbursement Department, Tax Department and Auditors.
- Prepares annual budget in conjunction with UHS standards, reviewing prior results and anticipating changes to highlight future needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role in a healthcare setting.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred).
- Working knowledge of hospital financial operations, federal and local tax regulations, and all business office, accounting, payroll and administrative processes from registration through discharge.
- Skill at interpreting financial analysis and performance data, preparing schedules and reports, using electronic spreadsheets and manipulating data in proprietary and acquired databases.
