Collections Specialist

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Collections Specialist to support accounts receivable efforts for both commercial and consumer accounts in Georgia. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who can communicate effectively, resolve outstanding balances efficiently, and help maintain healthy cash flow through consistent follow-up.

The right candidate will be comfortable handling billing-related collection activity, reviewing account status, and working with customers to secure timely payment.

Responsibilities:

+ Manage a portfolio of clients with outstanding balances and proactively contact them by phone, email, and other communication channels to drive collections activity.

+ Follow established processes, decision trees, and documented client agreements to resolve delinquent accounts and secure payment commitments.

+ Work closely with the Client Success team to review account status, supporting documentation, retention requirements, and next steps for collection efforts.

+ Maintain detailed and accurate account notes, payment arrangements, and collection activity within the company's CRM and proprietary portal.

+ Handle difficult collection conversations with professionalism while educating clients on their obligations and available resolution options.

+ Meet daily activity expectations, including approximately 200 outbound calls and 3 hours of talk time.

+ Monitor deadlines and account milestones to ensure timely follow-up and escalation when necessary.

+ Achieve collection goals through a combination of consistent activity, persistence, and effective negotiation skills.

Requirements

+ Previous high-volume collections experience required; candidates should be comfortable handling challenging collection conversations and driving results.

+ Proven track record of meeting or exceeding collection, recovery, or account resolution goals.

+ Strong phone presence and ability to build rapport while maintaining firmness in payment discussions.

+ Experience working within CRM systems and documenting account activity accurately.

+ Comfortable managing a high-volume workload with significant outbound call requirements.

+ Ability to follow detailed processes, procedures, and compliance requirements.

+ Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.

+ Self-motivated, performance-driven, and comfortable working in a metrics-based environment.

+ Ability to learn new systems and navigate multiple platforms simultaneously.

+ Available to work fully onsite and interested in a contract-to-hire opportunity based on performance.
