Position Title

Dietary Aide

Beacon Health Management is hiring a Dietary Aide to work at Hazelhurst Court Care and Rehab, providing both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care.

• Prepare and/or pre-proportion food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
• Ensure residents receive their specific meals as prescribed by the physician.
• Follow proper food handling and safety techniques according to established policies and procedures and maintain proper infection control procedures.
• Ensure food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner, using proper technique to ensure quality taste and palatability.
• Maintain proper temperature of food during preparations; record food temperatures, refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
• Assist with the setup of the tray line. Assemble trays according to the planned menu and tray tickets, stated portion, resident food preferences, diet order and within the established time schedules. Assist in checking trays during service for accuracy.
• Follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules.
• Clean, wash and sanitize dishes, flatware, and utensils used to serve patients and others.
• Assist in maintaining the general cleanliness of the dishwashing area.
• Clean work area and equipment as assigned.
• Put up stock in food storage areas and refrigerators as assigned.
• Maintain a pleasant, respectful, and courteous demeanor towards residents, families, visitors, and fellow employees at all times.

• Organized with a high level of attention to detail.
• Desire to work with the elderly.
• Be a self-starter.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality to ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
