Multi-Craft Technician

Plays a leading role in the startup of a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Works as a team member together with representatives of management, production, quality, and safety to ensure personnel safety, operational efficiency, and achievement of production targets.

• Works in compliance with company and regulatory safety policies
• Works daily to ensure all manufacturing equipment and electrical distribution equipment are functioning properly
• Assists in training maintenance personnel at a lower level of job classification
• Troubleshooting of automated processes or equipment acts as the first line of escalation from production
• Troubleshooting of mechanical components and systems using various test equipment
• Troubleshooting of automated mechanical processes or equipment acts as the first line of escalation from production
• Simulation and testing of mechanical processes or equipment to ensure desired functionality
• Simulation and testing of processes or equipment to ensure desired functionality
• Root cause analysis of equipment failures and problems and recommendation of appropriate countermeasures
• Troubleshooting of PLC and HMI systems using a laptop and applicable software
• Work with the production team daily to keep and maintain production goals and targets
• Works with mechanical maintenance to troubleshoot issues regarding production downtime
• Assist with in‑plant projects related to upgrading and streamlining equipment and processes
• Reports issues incurred during shift using work order system as well as email to communicate with other maintenance and engineering staff

• Required AS Degree or Technical Diploma in electrical, computer engineering, computer science, or other related engineering discipline together with 10+ yrs. experience in manufacturing engineering
• Strong PLC and HMI troubleshooting experience in a wide variety of platforms (Siemens, Mitsubishi preferred)
• Demonstrates understanding of industrial electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques
• Experience in reading and understanding technical plans, blueprints, electrical layouts, drawings, and wiring diagrams
• Preferred Certificate or Technical Diploma in welding, fabrication, or mechanical engineering with a minimum of 5-10 years of maintenance experience.
• Advanced hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission equipment troubleshooting experience
• Understanding of reading and understanding technical plans, blueprints, machine layouts, drawings, and hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
• Ability to Mig, Stick, and Tig weld along with the use of plasma cutter and torch
• Strong practical knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  
  Basic communication, project management, and presentation skills
• Basic skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other productivity tools
• Relevant experience in LVT manufacturing is highly desirable including coating and profiling
