Job Description

The owner profiling and welding beams on an automated line. Responsible for profiling (cutting and shaping) steel beams according to precise specifications, then welding them on an automated production line, ensuring quality, dimensional accuracy, and safe operation throughout the process.

Responsibilities
  • Profile and weld steel beams on an automated production line, ensuring quality, dimensional accuracy, and safe operation.
  • Ensure that all beam welds meet the quality standards defined by EN 1090 Execution Class

    C.
  • Follow quality documents, production procedures, cleaning, and security guidelines located on the SharePoint server.
  • Process production orders in the ERP system and encode quality and performance controls in the appropriate software.
  • Perform 5S audits following the provided guidelines and procedures.
Equipment & Tools
  • Production: roll forming line and welding line with robots; quality tools include a slide, meter, bench, measuring station, automatic weld control camera, and hook control camera; nibbler for cutting coil beginnings; tools for production adjustments.
  • Spare parts for small interventions on robots (contact tips, gas nozzles, gas distributors, etc.); welding machine.
  • PPE: safety shoes, gloves, earplugs, cap, glasses, welding helmet.
  • IT: PC with ERP and relevant software.
Areas of knowledge / specialisations
  • Knowledge of machine operation.
  • Welding robots: handling, positioning, modifying welding positioning with supervisor permission.
  • TCP Torch Control; profiling and adjusting profiles to design dimensions; welding permits for small repairs; computer proficiency; reading profile maps.
Working environment
  • Production workshop with noise, coil handling, welding operations, arc welding, strapping, load handling.
  • Exposure to noise, welding smoke, arc welding, moving coils, strapping, and manual load handling.
  • Products include Deraclean, argon C15, butane, HFO 45, Hydro HVI 46, interflon tube HT, Sodium hydroxide 0.1mol/l, Syndus SP 200.
Work pace / size of the shift
  • Between 1 and 5 length changes per team; about a change of profiles every three teams; approximately 2 hook changes; coil changes about once per hour on average; hook power supply ~500/h.
Qualifications
  • Profile and weld beams on an automated line with attention to safety and quality control; inspect length and welds (visual and functional checks) and verify dimensions (e.g., X, torsion, profile height).
  • Quality control: perform checks hourly with designated stringers at control stations; identify nonconformities and quarantine affected production; communicate with supervisor.
  • Change of coils: operate unwinder, leveler, roll forming machine, flying shears, automatic unwinding and profiling adjustments as needed.
  • Production changes: update profile type, coil, dies, weld line, and screen settings; ensure robots receive updated program numbers; verify station mechanical values.
  • Length changes: adjust length values on roll forming/punching screens and automatic length control systems; update robot screens and reset line.
  • Bracket changes: replace hooks and update screens and robots; reinstall hooks on conveyor.
  • Adapt welding positions with supervisor permission; repair poor welds manually; maintain welding robots (tips, nozzles, TCP control, wires, oiling).
  • Maintain cleanliness and waste management; sorting good vs bad profiles to minimize waste.
  • Follow ERP-encoded quality controls and productivity measures; assist with Level 1 maintenance and basic repairs as needed.
