Rental Yard Laborer

Loads, unloads, and moves material within or near plant, yard, or worksite.

• Reads work orders/shipping orders and follows verbal instructions to locate and move product in warehouse/rental yard.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from trucks, pallets, trays, and racks by hand.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to material or marks information on cases, bundles, or other packaging containers.
• Stacks and assembles material and equipment into bundles and uses banding, skids, and containers appropriately.
• Cleans products, materials, equipment and yard area to keep free of debris.
• May use form cleaning machinery and/or power and hand tools in renovating/cleaning forms.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
• Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.
• None.

• Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors, such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.

• Ability to read, understand, and use all safety operating procedures and equipment.
• Ability to operate air tools and hand tools; and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
