SummaryThe primary responsibility of the material handler is to facilitate the movement of incoming and outgoing materials and provide logistical support for production flow and timely delivery of finished products. Collaborating with team members to optimize packing, shipping, and receiving processes is essential, ensuring safety, security, and productivity standards are met.
Responsibilities- Operate forklifts and tugger vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Manage accountability for all inbound and outbound materials.
- Handle packaging, planning, and expediting orders to meet production schedules.
- Load and unload materials at production lines and designated areas.
- Verify the accuracy of quantities and packaging quality of materials.
- Label products and organize them appropriately.
- Maintain accurate stock and inventory records.
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of handling equipment.
- Coordinate with internal departments regarding delivery and packaging issues.
- Uphold a safe work environment following safety protocols.
- Keep the warehouse and surrounding areas clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED, or related experience/training.
- Forklift operation certification.
- Computer skills preferred but not required.
- Additional skills:
- Ability to read measurement gages and blueprints.
- Willingness to learn multiple roles on the assembly line.
- Availability for mandatory overtime, including weekends.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions.
- Stand and walk frequently.
- Use hand and finger dexterity regularly.
- Bend, stoop, or kneel often.
- Work near moving mechanical parts.
- Operate forklift control in confined spaces; a field test is required.
- Lift and move loads over 30 pounds, up to 50 pounds.
- Work in a temperature-controlled environment with occasional exposure to water, oils, and grease.
- Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque guns, and drills.
