Job Description

OFFSET PRESS OPERATOR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. Operates Offset Press to produce “Best In Class” packaging for domestic and international use. This role is focused on OHSE, quality, and ensuring products meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Operate offset press machine to develop end-result printed material in accordance with customer specifications, troubleshoot and monitor operation.
  • Prepare and operate web or sheet-fed offset printing press to print single and multicolor copies from lithographic plates.
  • Inspect job orders to determine quantity, stock specifications, colors and special printing instructions; adjust settings to achieve required printing height and color density.
  • Prepare plates, wash protective coatings, adjust spacing, fill ink and dampening solutions, start press, monitor print quality and make adjustments for consistent registration and color density.
  • Remove and clean plates and cylinders; apply packing sheets as needed; oversee General Technicians working on equipment; clear jams and maintain speed and quality.
  • Ensure efficient make-ready, loading and unloading processes.
  • Ensure finished jobs meet quality standards and complete checklists; support ISO 9001 quality objectives; comply with cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements and Chain of Custody.
Quality and OHSE
  • Review and ensure all jobs are complete, accurate and error-free; ensure finished products exceed customer expectations.
  • Adhere to OHSE and Clean policies; assist team members in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Maintain safety by following PPE requirements, handling hazardous materials according to guidelines, and keeping work areas in safe condition.
Communications and Leadership
  • Interact respectfully with team members; communicate accurate information professionally; accept direction and feedback.
  • Lead by creating and maintaining a high-performance environment; develop the team and provide training as required; motivate crew to improve quantity and quality of work.
Requirements
  • High School diploma (or GED).
  • Minimum of 3 years of offset press equipment operation.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills; basic computer and mathematical skills to compute percentages, weights and measures.
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, and manual dexterity required; lifting in excess of 60 lbs; good vision and eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to work extended hours beyond 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when needed.
