The Injection Molding Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving injection molding processes to ensure efficient production, consistent product quality, and stable equipment operation. This position monitors production performance, troubleshoots process issues, maintains technical documentation, and supports continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and optimize injection molding processes, parameters, and production conditions.
- Prepare and maintain injection molding condition sheets and standardized work documents.
- Analyze production issues, defects, downtime, and process abnormalities and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor daily production performance through MES, including output, defects, downtime, and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot issues related to injection molding machines, molds, materials, and processes.
- Support machine start-up, shutdown, mold changes, and process adjustments.
- Conduct regular inspections of injection molding equipment and production lines.
- Support new product launches, mold trials, and process improvement activities.
- Provide technical training and guidance to production personnel.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Support inventory and purchasing activities for injection molding and mold-related materials as needed.
- Ensure compliance with established quality, safety, and production standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Experience in injection molding, plastics manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of injection molding processes, equipment, molds, materials, and process parameters.
- Familiarity with MES or other manufacturing production systems preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Automotive Tier-1 or high-volume manufacturing experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual Korean/English is a plus.
