Interim Pastor

Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church is seeking an Interim Pastor to:

• Provide theologically sound expository preaching of the Word of God and strong biblical teaching that is engaging and relatable to the congregation and encourages application.
• Help navigate the transition from our legacy Senior Pastor to a new Senior Pastor.
• Provide spiritual and pastoral leadership and care to Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church.

The candidate must have served no less than 20 years as a Senior Pastor, preferably with over ten years in one church and over five years in a church of more than 250 members.

Prophet (Loves to Preach the Word; Prayer; Expository)

• Theologically sound expository preaching of the Word of God and strong biblical teaching that is engaging and relatable to the congregation and encourages application.
• Devoted to the service of Christ and the church.
• Glorifies and honors God in worship.
• Administer the sacraments and faithfully give oneself to pastoral work.
• Lead prayer meetings that lift up petitions of the church body.
• Help navigate the transition from our legacy Senior Pastor to a new Senior Pastor.
• Mentor and evaluate pastoral staff and church staff.
• Equip and mentor present and future members of the session and diaconate.
• Teach and equip the congregation and lay leadership to do the work of ministry fostering strong organization and collaboration within the ministries.
• Educate members and regular attenders on the doctrine of the Presbyterian Church of America and the Book of Church Order.
• Provide clear communication between staff, officers, and the congregation.
• Serve as an ex-officio member of the Diaconate and all church committees, as he deems necessary or helpful.
• Serve as the staff lead and point of contact for all church ministries and moderate all Session meetings.
• Lead the church officers and staff in vision discernment and in short- and long-range planning.

Priest (Shepherd, Righteousness; Loves to Deliver Tactile Pastoral Care)

• Provide spiritual and pastoral leadership and care to Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church.
• Promote unity within the congregation and facilitate restoration of any unresolved offenses.
• Develop the spiritual gifts and talents of the church officers and staff to facilitate their service to the church body.
