Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner – Core Civic

Compensation

$110,000 - $120,000 annually

Overview

Core Civic is a leading provider of secure housing, health care, and rehabilitation services. We are currently seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner who shares our commitment to provide the highest quality care to inmates.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care, including the execution of physician’s orders, dispensing and administration of medications, examinations, and treatments.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and formulate care plans in collaboration with physicians and other health professionals.
  • Monitor inpatient hospitalizations of inmates, ensuring timely releases when appropriate.
  • Maintain cleanliness and security of equipment and work areas.
  • Assist in monitoring all required contractual services and maintain strong working relationships with facility staff, nursing team, contract providers, and outside agencies.
  • Utilize corporate, facility, and correctional policies to make independent, sound judgments while fulfilling all duties.
  • Evaluate and mitigate potential catastrophic illnesses; recommend improvements for operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Audit pharmacy use for formulary adherence, comply with pharmacy laws, especially regarding controlled substances.
  • Observe patient behavior, maintain absolute confidentiality of medical records, and monitor compliance with all regulations.
  • Provide health counseling and education, both individually and in group settings.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary committees and quality improvement initiatives, and assist in accreditation processes (NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO).
  • Respond to emergencies and disasters, administering basic emergency medical aid and performing rescue functions as needed.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with all staff and resolve difficult interpersonal situations.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold an active Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license or equivalent, with training in family practice.
  • Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
