Job Overview
The Nursing Station Technician on the 39 bed Oncology unit will help adult patients with oncologic malignancies. Our focus is adult gynecology, oncology, colorectal and plastic surgery patients. Our services include surgical care, chemotherapy and blood administration. We manage complex medication and infusion therapies, and care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic surgeries, procedures and interventions on the unit. We are a dynamic team!

This position works a .7 FTE (56 hours per 2 week pay period), at 8
-hour shifts, on the day shifts with every other weekend rotation.
In this hybrid position, the Nursing Station Technician will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties. Other job duties include:
Responsibilities- Patient care tasks such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding.
- Maintaining unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts and ordering tests.
- Setting up and maintaining patient rooms.
- Ordering and stocking of supplies.
- / NA / HUC.
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.
- Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
- Or six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting (Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician).
- Or current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one semester of clinical rotation within the program.
- Or current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.
- Preferred:
Previous experience as a Health Unit Coordinator, Nursing Assistant, or other related experience.
