About The Fall Line

The Fall Line is a premier private destination golf and sporting club located in Butler, GA. Our state-of-the-art facilities include two 18-hole championship golf courses and a 9-hole short course. For shooting sports enthusiasts, we offer clay bird shooting, hunting and fishing. Our hospitality amenities feature multiple dining and lodging options, complemented by a 20-acre produce farm and 280 acre of silviculture and alley cropping that enhances our culinary offerings.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated Assistant Farm Manager to join our farm team. In this role The Assistant Farm Manager will work closely with the Farm Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the farm. This role supports all activities related to annual and perennial crop production, livestock management, equipment maintenance, and labor supervision. The Assistant Farm Manager will assist in ensuring that farm operations run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality, safety, and sustainability that is both functional and visually aesthetic.

The Assistant Farm Manager will spend most of their time on the farm participating in daily hands-on activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Support:
    Assist in planning and coordinating daily farm operations, including planting, pruning, harvesting, irrigation, nutrient management, and integrated pest management.
  • Crop Management:
    Assist in managing and cultivating crops by working with the Farm Manager to develop effective planting schedules and strategies, monitoring plant health for disease and pests, and adjusting farming practices based on crop needs, soil conditions, and weather patterns. Utilize technology for irrigation, fertilization, and pest control, while collaborating with experts to integrate sustainable practices. Maintain accurate records of production, yield, and costs, using data analysis to improve efficiency and forecast trends.

    Keep farming equipment in optimal condition, while managing inventory of seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides. Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations and certifications, including USDA GAP and Organic programs.
  • Livestock Management:
    Assist in managing the care and feeding of livestock by developing and implementing nutrition plans tailored to each species' needs. Ensure the health and well-being of the animals through regular health assessments, vaccinations, and veterinary care. Monitor animal behavior and environmental conditions to prevent disease. Maintain detailed records of breeding activities, health monitoring, nutritional intake, and any medical treatments. Implement biosecurity measures to protect against pathogens.

    Collaborate with veterinarians and other specialists for advanced care. Evaluate and improve facilities to ensure safe, comfortable living conditions for all livestock.
  • Team Supervision:
    Supervise and assist farm workers, providing training on equipment usage, safety procedures, and farm tasks. Ensure all team members follow farm policies and maintain high productivity levels.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of farm equipment and machinery, coordinating repairs and routine service schedules as needed.
  • Farm Maintenance:
    Oversee the upkeep of farm buildings, fences, and other infrastructure, ensuring safety and functionality of all physical assets.
  • Inventory and Supply Management:
    Monitor inventory of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, tools, and equipment, placing orders as necessary and maintaining accurate records of purchases.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting:
    Assist in maintaining detailed farm records including production data, employee work hours, equipment maintenance logs, and financial transactions. Help with the preparation of reports for farm management and stakeholders.
  • Health and Safety Compliance:
    Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Promote a culture of safety and sustainable practices on the farm.
