Quality Control Manager - TS/SCI Full Scope Poly

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO), an Akima Company, provides logistics, facilities maintenance and operations, and support services for mission‑critical military installations and civilian agencies. This includes total operations, maintenance, preventive maintenance, repair, overhaul, replacement, alteration, construction and services for building and structures, vehicle equipment operations, ground and surface area maintenance, warehouse operations, material management, shipping and receiving, inventory control, janitorial, grounds maintenance, plant operations, data management, and more—all continuously measured by rigorous outcome‑based performance metrics.

AFO is an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC); 100% of profits go to 15,000 Iñupiat shareholders in Alaska.

Position is contingent upon contract award.

Position is located in Augusta, GA.

Responsibilities
  • The Quality Control Manager (QCM) serves as the subject matter expert on all quality assurance and safety compliance issues.
  • Develops, maintains, and revises assessment instruments to ensure contract compliance with organizational, contracting client, and other regulations and guidelines.
  • This is a Senior level position and serves as the contract’s liaison regarding the interpretation of all compliance and accreditation policies and guidelines.
  • Develops a Quality Control Plan (QCP) and leads the annual revision.
  • Leads ISO 9001:2015 compliance audits and accreditation.
  • Develops lessons plans, scenarios and exercises to train managers, supervisors and employees in quality principles.
  • Develops performance metrics to address quality assurance, customer satisfaction, quality rejections/reworks and observations.
  • Oversees Root Cause Analysis program, Gap Analysis Audits, and Quality Management System audits.
  • Manages the site‑specific quality database.
  • Ensures all rules, regulations, and guidelines are communicated to all impacted areas throughout the contract.
  • Develops reports for management regarding the effectiveness of the contract’s compliance areas.
  • Recommends process improvements based on inspection results, data and customer requirements.
  • Maintains a system of data management for corrective action recording and reporting.
  • Documents reviews through formalized reports with assessment and recommendation for improvement.
  • Meets with department managers to determine compliance with organizational, contracting client, or outside party requirements.
  • Performs contract‑level operational reviews and audits of all functional areas, accurately reporting non‑compliance findings and recommending corrective actions.
  • Serves as the contract’s liaison to the organization, contracting client, and other parties to ensure timely responses to inquiries.
  • Leads quarterly quality improvement board.
  • Assists in hiring supervisors and employees, including job fairs, interviewing candidates and supporting the Akima hiring process.
  • Acts as active support and participant in the ESH program.
  • Develops and executes project plans to support quality initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Ten (10) years as a quality control manager on a U.S. federal government service contract.
  • Five (5) years of experience with the Intelligence Community or Department of Energy facilities operations and maintenance.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in implementing the International Organization for Standardization.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in successful implementation and annual revision of a Quality Control Plan.
  • Strong personal leadership, management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exemplary attention to detail.
  • Maintains sensitivity to and reporting on instances of fraud, waste, and abuse.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Ability to analyze site‑specific data from the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Ability to prepare management, business, technical, and personnel reports for internal and external use.
  • Can present to employees at all levels and write cohesive documentation.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years’ experience working in Environmental Safety and Health.
  • Implementation of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The QCM shall be knowledgeable in compliance and assessment principles, involved in performance of and compliance in contract operations. Monitors and assesses the performance of self, others, and organizations to make improvements or take corrective actions. Has the ability to plan, implement and evaluate programs to ensure contract compliance.
