Mortgage Field Services Inspector – FAR INSPECTIONS
FAR Inspections is seeking highly motivated individuals for residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in Reno, NV. As an independent contractor, you will have a flexible schedule and predictable income.
Responsibilities- Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
- Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
- Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
- Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
- Complete a short form in an app.
- Spend extended periods driving, making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
- Computer with an internet connection
- Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas)
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone)
- Printer
- Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license
1099 position. Each inspection has a flat. Rates vary based on county and volume. Although paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour.
Depending on county and whether it is urban or rural, you will complete anywhere from 20‑500 inspections per month working 2‑30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.
Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect or are willing to cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
