Overview
ODOC – CCCF Correctional Sergeant Lateral Transfer Request (Wilsonville) – Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF). This position is represented by AFSCME and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through PERS, as defined by statute.

We are seeking dedicated and experienced candidates for the position of Correctional Sergeant to advance in their career while maintaining security, overseeing staff, and guiding AICs toward rehabilitation.
About the Job – Your RoleAs a Correctional Sergeant, you will be a senior security staff member responsible for overseeing custody, control, supervision, and daily care of adults in custody while upholding the mission of the Department. You will serve as a lead worker, ensuring facility operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will supervise AICs during movement assignments, monitor high-security areas, and conduct security operations such as transports, searches, and emergency response.
You will also participate in staff development, assisting in training and potentially mentoring subordinate staff as a Field Training Officer (FTO). You will lead by example, modeling professionalism, accountability, and behaviors that support rehabilitation efforts.
This position is represented by AFSCME and may be eligible for PERS benefits as defined by statute.
Responsibilities- Oversee custody, control, supervision, and daily care of adults in custody.
- Supervise AICs during movement assignments and monitor high-security areas.
- Conduct security operations such as transports, searches, and emergency response.
- Lead by example and model professionalism and accountability.
- Assist in training and mentor subordinate staff as an FTO where applicable.
You must be a current ODOC Correctional Sergeant employee to be considered for a lateral transfer request. Lateral transfer requests are posted by institution. If you are interested in applying to multiple locations, apply to each additional job announcement.
Employees requesting a lateral transfer by voluntary demotion from a higher security series classification can do so from this announcement. You must be currently DPSST certified to request a lateral.
Your request will be maintained in Workday and will be considered active:
- until the employee successfully transfers,
- until the employee withdraws the application,
- until the employee terminates employment from ODOC,
- employee did not respond to an interview request, or
- until two years from apply date per ODOC policy.
