Armed Security Officer

Summary

The Armed Security Officer provides first response to emergencies, enforces federal law and assimilated state law, and conducts mobile patrols.

• Provide access control, traffic control and conduct walking and motorized armed security functions.
• Conduct personnel, vehicular, building, & facility checks and package & parcel inspections.
• Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Two years of service in the United States Armed Services (including Reserve or National Guard).
• Any combination of two years of experience in physical security (armed or unarmed) and service with the United States Armed Services (including Reserves or National Guard).
• Associate's degree in a Security or Law Enforcement related field, or successful completion of a police officer’s basic training academy.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

• Operating a personal computer and standard office equipment.
• Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
• Approaches others in a tactful manner; reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepts responsibility for own actions; follows through on commitments.
